    JEE Main 2024 Session 2 – Eligibility Criteria

    Students who desire to appear for JEE mains 2024 Session 2 should have passed class 12th or should be appearing in class 12th examination in 2024. However, there is no age limit for this examination. Students should be class 12th pass or should be appearing for this exam.

    • Eligibility for admission to B.E./B.Tech – Students who wish to seek admission in B.E./B.Tech after qualifying JEE mains 2024 should have passed 12th class examination with Physics, Chemistry and any one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology as a subject.
    • Eligibility for admission to B. Arch- Students who wish to seek admission in B.  Arch after qualifying JEE mains 2024 should have passed 12th class examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as a subject.
    • Eligibility for admission to B. Plan- Students who wish to seek admission in B.  Plan after qualifying JEE mains 2024 should have passed 12th class examination with Mathematics as a subject.

    JEE Main 2024 Session 2 – Syllabus

    Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are the major subjects that are included in the JEE mains 2024 syllabus.

    Physics

    80% weightage is given to following topics in Physics – Physics and measurement, Electromagnetic waves, Magnetic effects of current and magnetism, Kinetic theory of gases, Oscillation and waves, Gravitation, Work, Energy and Power, Thermodynamics, Dual nature of matter and radiation, Electro statistics, Rotational motion, Optics, Electromagnetic induction, Current electricity, Electronic devices, Laws of motion, Properties of solid and liquid, Kinematics, Rotational motion, Atoms and nuclei.

    20% weightage shall be given to Experimental skills.

    Chemistry

    Physical Chemistry

    35.6% weightage is given to Physical Chemistry topics like basic concepts in Chemistry, Chemical bonding, Chemical thermodynamics, Redox reactions and electrochemistry, Chemical kinetics, Atomic structure, Solutions and Equilibrium.

    Organic Chemistry

    29.7% weightage is given to Organic Chemistry topics like Purification and characterization of organic compounds, Organic compounds with halogens, Organic compounds with nitrogen, Organic compounds with oxygen, Basic principles of organic chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Practical chemistry principles, Biomolecules

    Inorganic Chemistry

    34.7% weightage is given to Inorganic Chemistry topics like Classification of elements and periodicity, P block elements (13 to 18 group), d and f block elements, Co-ordination compounds.

    Mathematics

    16 units of mathematics including Complex numbers and quadratic equations, Sets, Rotations and functions, Permutations and combinations, Limit, Continuity and differentiability, Three-dimension geometry, Binomial theorem, vector algebra, Trigonometry, Matrices and determinants, Integral calculus, Differential equations, Sequence and Series, Statistics and probability and Co-ordinate geometry are covered in Mathematics as syllabus for JEE mains 2024.

    JEE Main 2024 Session 2 – Admit card

    JEE mains admit card session 2 shall be released 3 days before the actual examination date. The exam date is between April 1 to 15, 2024. However, the tentative date for JEE mains admit card session 2 release is March 29, 2024. The same can be checked on the official site www.jeemain.nta.ac.in

    Normalization Process – JEE Main 2024 Session 1 Result Date

    Since the JEE Main exam is conducted in multiple sessions, the difficulty level may vary. To address this, the authorities use the process of normalization. NTA will release the normalized JEE Main 2024 scores, indicating the percentage of candidates whose scores are equal to or below the scores of top scorers in that specific section.

    The calculation formula for NTA scores is:

    Formula: (100 x number of candidates who appeared in the session with a raw score equal to or less than the candidate) / total number of candidates who appeared in that session

    It is important for candidates to understand that the normalized NTA score differs from the percentage of marks secured in the examination.
